Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player won his first trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since March of that year.

The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the final five points to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first tour victory, took control to push for a decider.

Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a close final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he secured the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
